A heuristic evaluation is an expert discount review
of an interface design, which identifies usability problems in
the design so they can be attended to as part of an iterative
design process. The evaluation is based on human factors
principles and the context of use of the product.
Bamboudesign conducts fast and cost-effective heuristic
evaluations of existing user interfaces. We have extensive
knowledge of computer human interaction and understanding of
common design, ergonomics, and usability principles. Our objective
is to point out areas of improvement in
the design. This is
an ideal first step before usability
testing with users.
- A list of identified design and usability problems
- Recommendations for resolving these problems
- Potential new directions of product development
Our evaluations focus on
five key quality components of the interface: learnability, efficiency,
memorability,
errors, and satisfaction, based on the product or service features
and the specific goals users need to achieve.
In particular, we analyse issues such as task flow,
clarity, consistency, navigation, and errors. We also evaluate
the language used in the system, the amount of recall required
of the user at each step in a process, response time, and how
the system provides feedback to the user.
