Join us for an iPhone networking event organized by The iPhone Network Lounge and hear Carlos Icaza of Ansca present the latest release of Corona, an amazing alternative iPhone SDK that makes developing iPhone apps a breeze to seasoned developers and accessible to Flash and web developers!
Mobile devices, led by the iPhone, are the next applications platform. Find out how Corona, from Ansca Mobile, can empower you to create multimedia and graphically rich iPhone applications within minutes. Whether you are a seasoned mobile software engineer or a non-traditional mobile developer, Corona makes it possible for you to build and distribute highly optimized iPhone apps. Corona can reduce your development time and cost by up to 90 percent.
Simple Scripting, No Objective C
The Corona Framework, using a scripting language similar to ActionScript 2.0 and JavaScript, makes it easy to create iPhone apps without having to learn Objective-C/Cocoa/C++ and without having to wrangle with the intricacies of xCode and xCode projects.
A Workaround for Flash Apps
Corona’s framework was designed to have very low overhead, and makes full use of graphics acceleration hardware (OpenGL/ES), giving you up to a full 30 frames per second for game animation. Ansca’s technology could also be seen as an alternative to Adobe’s Flash technology, which powers lots of web video and applications, and which Adobe is pushing onto smartphones. Ansca’s chief executive Carlos Icaza and chief technology officer Walter Luh both worked on the mobile version of Flash when they were at Adobe.
